Pilot Walks Away after Crop Spraying Plane Crash Lands Near Algona

Algona, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department reports the third plane accident this month in Northern Iowa.
A Cessna spray plane registred to D and K Aviation from Milford crashed two miles South of Algona on 180th Street when it clipped a power line around 4 o’clock Wednesday aftenroon. Residents who lived nearby where unharmbed, and the pilot was treated for minor cuts at the scene by Kossuth County EMS workers. Kossuth County Emergency Management and the Algona Fire Department also responded.
The case has been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate.
Last week the wreckage of a plane piloted by a Colorado man was found in Plymouth County, and on the 4th of July a pilot made a hard landing just North of the Spirit Lake airport in Dickinson County.
