PETERSON, IA (Northwestiowanow) – Peterson Fire Days returns this weekend.

The annual celebration runs Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2.

Peterson Fire Chief Luke Zalaznik says there will be plenty to keep visitors busy throughout the weekend.

 

 

New additions this year include a youth pickleball tournament, vendors on Main Street, youth water fights and a new Chicken Bingo fundraiser set for Saturday evening.

 

 

Saturday’s schedule also includes a cornhole tournament with $500 in added prize money, a pulled pork supper hosted by the fire department and the annual street dance featuring the Johnny Holm Band.

Sunday activities include a community church service, the annual firefighter and EMS awards ceremony, and a pie auction.

Funds raised during Fire Days will help support the Peterson Fire Department.
