Spirit Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A Milford woman was taken to the hospital after a car / semi accident just West of Spirit Lake on Highway 9 around 9pm Monday. 26-year-old Delaney Packard was Eastbound in a Honda Accord, when 67-year-old Lance Pospisil of Sioux Falls pulled in front of her in a Kenworth semi and trailer. Packard was transported by ambulance with what are described as minor non-incapacitating injuries. Pospisil was charged with failure to yield upon entering a through highway.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s department was assisted by Spirit Lake police, the Spirit Lake Fire Department, and the Iowa DNR.
