Newton, IA — It’s NASCAR Race Week in Iowa. Iowa Speedway Track Announcer Todd Steinkamp joined our racing podcast this week to discuss the big weekend ahead. The festivities kick off Thursday night in downtown Des Moines with a family-friendly Fanfest.

Friday action kicks off at Iowa Speedway with ARCA Series competition, including practice, qualifying, and the race on Friday evening at 6PM central on FS1.

Action picks up throughout the day on Saturday, with the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Part Series holding practice and qualifying before the NASCAR Cup Series cars hit the track Saturday afternoon for practice and qualifying.

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Part Series will race Saturday late afternoon at 4PM central on the CW.

Then the famous NASCAR Cup Series will hit the track Sunday afternoon for the Iowa Corn 350 powered by Ethanol at 2:30PM central on USA Network. Todd tells us what he expects with track conditions.

Goodyear announced Tuesday morning that a new left-side tire will debut for Sunday’s Cup Series race, a change that should allow for increased tire wear and greater falloff over the course of a green-flag run.

William Byron is the defending Iowa Corn 350 winner.
