Cleaner Waters: Lower Gar Lake Removed from Impaired Waters List

Spirit Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — One of the five Iowa Great Lakes has been removed from a federal list.

Dickinson County Clean Water Alliance Coordinator John Wills says murky water and algae blooms had been common.

Wills tells KICD News the issue was attacked in both the farm and residential community.

242-acre Lower Gar Lake then empties into the Little Sioux River.
