Clay County Search Warrant Results in Drug Arrests in Peterson

Peterson, IA – A Clay County search warrant led to the arrest of two Peterson residents Thursday.

On July 16th at approximately 12:10 p.m., deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 9 East 3rd Street in Peterson. Authorities identified Norman Escalera, 50, and Tyrel McCallister, 31, both of Peterson, as occupants of the residence.

During the search, deputies reportedly located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Both men were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and third offense controlled substance violations. Escalera faces a Class D felony charge, while McCallister faces an aggravated misdemeanor charge related to marijuana possession.

The two were taken to the Clay County Jail without incident and were being held pending an appearance before a magistrate.
