Storm Lake, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Spencer and Storm Lake collided Friday night in Class 4A District 1 action. It was senior night for the Tornadoes while the Tigers wrapped up their final regular season road contest.

Spencer scored on a 7-play, 3-minute drive when Kam Young powered in from a yard away. The Tigers led 7-0 after the first quarter.

Spencer would add to the lead in the 2nd with another Kam Young Touchdown run and Dylan Timmer scoring from 6 yards away. The Tigers took a 21-0 lead going into the half.

Kam Young found the endzone two more times in the 3rd quarter. The 35-0 lead got the clock running for the remainder of the game.

The Tigers added to the cushion when Carter Goyette got a rocket toss, scoring from 2 yards out. After a successful PAT, Spencer led 42-0.

Storm Lake was able to crack the scoreboard with 3:53 left in the game as Cam Boyd through a perfect pass to a corner route running David William. That brough us our final score of 42-7.

Both teams had their fair share of penalties on the night. Spencer totaled 5 penalties for 65 yards. Storm Lake really got punished with the flag, totaling up 121 and a half yards on 11 penalties.

The Tornadoes had 188 yards of total offense. David William caught 6 passes for 100 yards and a Touchdown.

Spencer’s Kam Young’s 151 yard and 4 Touchdown night gives him over 1000 yards on the ground for the season and 17 Touchdowns.

Spencer improves to 3-5 on the year and 2-2 in Class 4A District 1 play. The Tigers will host #5 Sergeant Bluff-Luton next week to wrap up the regular season.

Storm Lake falls to 2-6 this year with a 1-3 District mark and they will be in Le Mars to play the Bulldogs for the regular season finale next week.
