Tiger Swimmers Advance Five Events to State Meet

Mason City, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Swim Team competed at the IGHSAU State Qualifying Meet in Mason City on Saturday.

Halle Sears took 2ndin the 200 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:09.88.

Sears would hit the pool again with a Gold Medal in the 100y Butterfly, clocking 57.58 seconds.

Spencer’s team of Aubrey McFarland, Maisy Schmidt, Ava Vogt, and Sears took 3rd in the 200y Freestyle with a time of 1:44.36.

The Tigers team of McFarland, Schmidt, Vogt, and Sears came back for a 5th place time of 3:52.42 in the 400y Freestyle.

Dowling Catholic of West Des Moines won the team title with 551 points, Valley of West Des Moines was 2nd, and West of Waterloo was 3rd. Spencer took 5th out of the 8 teams.
