SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The Spencer Public Library is reflecting on a busy summer.

Library Director Sara Beth Fuchsen says area residents, ranging from infants to adults, logged nearly half a million minutes in Spencer’s Summer Reading Program.

Outside of reading, Fuchsen says younger participants also had a variety of activities to enjoy throughout the summer.

With the book now closed on the summer program, Program Director Robin Munson says the library is turning its attention to several upcoming programs and community partnerships.  The Spencer Public Library also continues its ongoing used book sale, with a number of young-adult books and series currently available following changes to the library’s teen collection.
