Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — The Spencer Youth Baseball and Softball Association is ready to kick off summer “tonight” with a Summer Grill Out.
Nikki Hansen is the current President of SYBSA, and says kids are pretty excited about the event.
Hansen says over 500 kids are participating in the league this season, with over 90 teams. Parents and community members volunteer their time, but some money is needed for the league to run, so free will offering tonight is welcome. All proceeds will go toward league equipment upgrades and facility improvements.
The event is open to the entire community. Special thanks go out to event sponsors, including the Clay County Cattlemen, Royal Lions Club, Christensen Feedlot, Matt Dehrkoop, and Ben Pullen.
