Storm Lake Substance Saturday Morning Arrests

Storm Lake, IA (NorthwestIowaNow.com) Storm Lake police charged two men with drug violations Saturday morning.

An officer conducted a traffic stop at 10:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Lake Avenue and reported smelling marijuana.

Following an investigation, 22-year-old Hanson Schumacher of Pomeroy and his passenger, 20-year-old Anthony Esquivel, were both charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Schumacher also had outstanding warrants for possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, and OWI.


Early Friday morning, around 1 a.m., Storm Lake police made another traffic stop after an officer observed signs of impairment. Following a sobriety test, 28-year-old Rafael Herta Garcia of Storm Lake was charged with third-offense OWI and violating restrictions on his driver’s license.
