The incident occurred in Storm Lake while the victim was holding a child, leading to charges of Assault Causing Serious Injury and Child Endangerment.

Although Becquer entered a guilty plea in February, the State successfully argued for incarceration during a contested sentencing hearing before Judge Carl Petersen. The case was investigated by the Storm Lake Police Department and prosecuted by the Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office.
