Hull, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – It was a long tough night in Hull for the Spencer Tigers as they took on Western Christian in Non-District play.

The Wolfpack had a ton of success in the first quarter, scoring on both drives while stifling the Spencer offensive attack.

The Tiger defense was able to stiffen up in the 2nd quarter, keeping Western Christian out of the endzone till halftime. The Spencer offense was able to move the ball with some success but would turn it over twice in Western Christian Territory.

After a Spencer punt to open up the second half, Western Christian ripped down the field for another Touchdown.

Spencer came back with a drive inside the 5 yard-line of the Wolfpack, but a couple of penalties against the Tigers made it a 3rd and goal from outside the 10, and another interception was thrown.

The Spencer defense forced a safety on the next Western Christian drive, making it 21-2, but that was all the scoring Spencer could do in the game.

A weather delay early in the 4th quarter paused action for over an hour. When play resumed, Spencer went on a long drive that ended on a turnover on downs, and Western Christian kneeled out the clock to win 27-2.

Western Christian Quarterback Tayden Moret was electric for the Wolfpack, carrying the ball 14 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns while completing 12 of his 18 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns.

Spencer falls to 1-2 and will be on the road again next week to take on Sioux Center.
