Spencer Police Discover Body of Missing Man Following Search Effort

Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — KICD News has now received official word about the search for a missing man that began Monday morning.

Police Chief Mark Warburton confirms 32-year-old Ty Jackson was reported missing after last being seen at 1am Saturday morning.

A search of Oneota Park – where Jackson’s cell phone was located – was conducted Monday, with his body being discovered in the water body known at Pete’s Pond around Noon.

Jackson’s body was turned over to the State Medical Examiner for further investigation.

The Spencer Police department was assisted in the search by: The Clay County Sheriff’s Department, Conservation Department, Medical Examiner, and Emergency Management; Iowa State Patrol, DNR, and Division of Criminal Investigation; multiple city employees from the fire, parks, planning and zoning, and public works departments; and over 50 private citizens.
