SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) – A Spencer man has been arrested on multiple sexual abuse charges.

On Friday, September 18th authorities with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Jimmy Dean Ash at 3115 West 4th Street in Spencer around 5:31 p.m.

According to court records, a criminal case was filed against Ash on September 15th on two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, both Class B felonies, two counts of indecent contact with a child, and one count of indecent exposure.

Four of the charges list alleged offense dates in May of 2024, while one indecent contact with a child charge lists an alleged offense date in January of 2018.

The Sheriff’s Office says Ash was being held in the Clay County Jail without bond following his arrest.
