Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Tennis team wrapped up regular season dual action on Tuesday night in Spencer against Conference foe Storm Lake.

Spencer had no trouble with the Tornadoes, winning 9-0 and never dropping a set-in singles or doubles.

The win caps off an undefeated dual season for the now Class 1A #5 ranked team Tigers. Abbey Crew says some of the Tournament competition has prepared them well for Northwest Iowa matchups.

Spencer won the regular season Lakes Conference Championship along with the win on Tuesday. They now prepare for a stretch of Tournaments before digging into the postseason. Allie Ewalt says the Tigers need to remain locked in to achieve their goals.

Crew and Ewalt combined for the #2 doubles against Storm Lake. The two Seniors have been playing together since 7th grade. Ewalt says Crew convinced her to come out for the sport in the first place.

Crew says Tennis has become more of a lifestyle for her.

Spencer will host the 2025 Lakes Conference Tournament Championships this weekend at the Riverview Tennis Courts in Spencer.
