Six KICD Area Champs at Spencer Girls Wrestling Invitational

Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Spencer hosted their Girls Wrestling Invitational on Saturday in the Fieldhouse. GTRA/ELC, Okoboji/HMS, Pocahontas Area, Sheldon/South O’Brien, Sibley-Ocheyedan, Sioux Central, and Spirit Lake/Park also attended from the KICD 9-County Area.

At 100, Kiara Ruiz of Spencer took 1st. She beat Annalesee Sachau of Hinton/SBL, a wrestler that Ruiz faced at Iowa Central.

Madison Stickrod of Spencer won at 105 with Audrina Bennett of Spirit Lake/Park taking 3rd. Stickrod was happy to face Joslyn Swanson of Hinton/SBL again.

Spirit Lake/Park’s Cassie McKeen was the champion at 110 with Terra Swedin of GTRA/ELC in 2nd.

Freshman Jada Mingus-Alfaro of Spencer was the winner at 115. Mingus-Alfaro talked about a strong start to the season.

Taking 2nd at 115 was Trista Guinn of GTRA/ELC.

Sioux Central’s Nichole Hart was 2nd at 125 with Addaley Girres of GTRA/ELC taking 3rd.

At 130, Camilla Neppl of Spirit Lake/Park was 2nd with Nataley Frerk of Sioux Central taking 3rd.

Kyiah Logan of Spencer was the champion at 135, beating her cousin Reece Logan of Spirit Lake/Park for the gold. This is the second time the Logan cousins have wrestled.

It was Isabelle Harris of GTRA/ELC winning at 140.  Harris took on Sigrid Adams of Sioux Central and said it was a challenge.

Rayvena Ussery of Spirit Lake/Park took 2nd at 145.

Taking 3rd at 235 was Pocahontas Area’s Mady Ahlrich.

In the team scores, Canton was 1st with 270.5, Hinton/SBL took 2nd with 186, and Spencer was 3rd with 170.

GTRA/ELC was 4th, Spirit Lake/Park took 6th, Okoboji/HMS was 9th, Sibley-Ocheyedan 12th, Pocahontas Area 14th, and Sheldon/South O’Brien 15th.
