Single Vehicle Crash in Clay County

CLAY COUNTY, IA (Northwestiowanow) — One person suffered serious injuries and three others were hurt in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning in Clay County.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported at approximately 9:13 a.m. on June 7 in the 3300 mile of 310th Avenue.  Reports say a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic driven by 30-year-old Nyamukal Lual of Storm Lake was traveling southbound when the vehicle left the roadway and entered a ditch.  Lual sustained incapacitating injuries and was transported by ambulance to Spencer Hospital.  One passenger was also taken to the hospital, while two additional passengers were evaluated at the scene and later released.

The vehicle was considered a total loss, with damage estimated at around $15,000.  Emergency responders from Spencer Hospital Ambulance, Ruthven Fire and Rescue, Dickens Fire and Rescue, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, and Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
