Sherwood Forest Park Reports Major Progress

Okoboji, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Dickinson County Conservation reports significant progress toward opening Sherwood Forest Park. The project plans to transform the historic area around the former Inn Golf Course into a premier outdoor destination for the Iowa Lakes region.

Conservation Board staff confirm final preperations are underway.

 

 

Heibult says progress continues on the Arnolds Park project as well, which entails 73-acres of undeveloped land near Oars Campground being transformed into a permanent public space.

 

 

After securing funds to acquire the land in 2025, now the County Conservation and The City of Arnolds Park are focused on the long-term vision of prairie and wetland restoration efforts the environmental role the land can play by filtering runoff on the surrounding land to protect water quality of the Lower Gar and Milford Creek.
