Saturday Fire at Spencer Tree Dump

Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Spencer fire department spent over twelve hours getting a large tree pile at the city’s green waste site under control over the weekend. The first crew arrived at 5pm Saturday with the last leaving at 6:30 Sunday morning.

Assistant Fire Chief Mark Stover says the Fostoria and Everly fire departments both assisted as water had to be trucked to the site, and the street department also helped.

There is no official cause. The tree dump is located at 3300 210th Avenue.
