Riverside Chat at Linn Grove Campground with BV County Conservation Director

The “Summer of the Little Sioux” series is rolling alongĀ  Wednesday August 27 with a special event down at the Linn Grove Dam Campground.

Buena Vista County Conservation Director Greg Johnson for what they’re calling “A Riverside Chat.” Johnson will be giving a brief history of the Linn Grove Dam and the area around it. They’ll also be talking about the archaeology site that was found while developing the campground.

Past flooding on the Little Sioux will be discussed and learn about what happened with FEMA aid and hear about the long-term plan for the area.

It’s set to be a community discussion, and continues the education and discovery of the Little Sioux River, Inkpaduta Canoe Trail, Iowa history, Native history and more. The chat starts tonight at 6:30 at the Linn Grove Dam Campground, 199 Main Street in Linn Grove. You can find out more about the Summer of the Little Sioux at Iowa Lakeside Lab Facebook.
