Fort Dodge, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Swim Team traveled to Fort Dodge for the Gary Winkler Invite on Saturday.
The Tigers started off the evening with a first-place finish in the 200y Medley Relay. A team of Emerson Wittrock, Halle Sears, Aubrey Paterson, and Aubrey McFarland clocked 1:54.64.
Sears got back in the pool for the next event, winning the 200y Free with a time of 2:00.97. Spencer’s Kaela Weston finished 5th with a time of 2:20.84.
Wittrock took 3rd for the Tigers in the 200y Individual Medley, finishing with a time of 2:28.67.
In the 50y Free, Spencer’s Ava Vogt took 3rd with a time of 26.84, and teammate Maisy Schmidt was 4th at 27.6.
For the 100y Fly, Paterson won for Spencer with a time of 1:00.91.
Vogt picked up another top 5 individual finish, taking 3rd in the 100y Free with a time of 59.74 and Schmidt was 4th at 1:02.63.
Spencer’s team of Paterson, Vogt, McFarland, and Sears won the 200y Free with a time of 1:44.72.
Sears won her second individual event with a time of 1:01.9 in the 100y Backstroke with Wittrock taking 2nd at 1:02.47 and McFarland 5th at 1:05.86.
Jade Henson of Spencer was 4th in the 100y Breaststroke at 1:17.79.
The Tigers capped off a strong evening by completing the Relay Sweep. Paterson, Wittrock, Vogt, and McFarland won the 400y Free with a time of 3:50.08.
In the Team Scores, Spencer won with 376.5 points, clearing 2nd place Carroll by 69 points. Sioux City Metro was 3rd, Fort Dodge 4th, and Algona finished 5th.
