Rebels Basketball Teams Dominate Cougars

Sioux Rapids, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Sioux Central welcomed Manson-Northwest Webster to Sioux Rapids on Friday night for a Twin Lakes Conference battle.

The Rebels started running early, leading 24-5 after the first quarter, and grew that lead to 35 after a 21-point second quarter. Avery Wilson was stellar in the first half with 23 points.

The offense slowed down in the 3rd quarter with the running clock, but the defense continued to stifle the Cougars, as they outscored them 9-2.

From there, the Rebels cruised to a 57-16 thumping of Manson-Northwest Webster.

Sioux Central is now 5-1 on the season with the win. Avery Wilson had 25 in the win to lead all scorers.

Manson-Northwest Webster falls to 0-5 on the year.

Manson-Northwest Webster jumped out to a 16-13 lead in the boy’s game after the first quarter.

In the second, Sioux Central responded with 17 points, and took the lead going into the half at 30-27.

The lead grew in the 3rd quarter for the rebels, outscoring the Cougars 15-10.

Sioux Central collected the 60-47 win as they improve to 4-0 on the year. Jack Christian gave the Rebels 29 points in the win, scoring 15 in the second half. Owen Mills contributed 21 to the winning effort.

Manson-Northwest Webster was led in the loss by Coy Moline’s 19. Charlie Sturgis was also in double figures with 12. Manson-Northwest Webster drops to 1-3 on the season.
