Showers will move out late this afternoon as the system moves east. Rain amounts will stay light. There is a very small chance of a spotty shower or storm in southwest Minnesota this evening. If one does form, wind gusts up to 40 mph are possible. After the showers leave, high pressure moves in, and temperatures will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s by Saturday morning.

Saturday will be dry and pleasant with light winds. After a cool start in the morning, temperatures will rise into the 70s.

On Saturday night into Sunday, a low-pressure system will move into the area and bring warmer air. Storm strength looks weak, so severe weather is not likely. Heavy rain also looks limited, though areas near the Missouri River could see around 1 inch or a bit more by Monday morning. Because the ground is very dry, it would take more than 1–2 inches of rain in a day or more to cause flooding, and that does not look likely.

Next week, winds high in the sky will keep storms weak. A few small systems may pass through, but the chance for heavy rain or severe weather stays low. Temperatures will also stay cooler than normal.
