Primghar, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — A late-night emergency in Primghar is serving as a stark warning for homeowners with older electrical systems. Primghar Assistant Fire Chief Sean Scroggin gives KICD an update on an incident called in last Wednesday, June 10.

Despite not finding actual fire upon their arrival, Scroggin says they want to be certain.

Scroggin says it’s important not to overload the electrical system.

Primghar fire and rescue volunteers were back in service after one hour and 46 minutes.

If your home’s wiring cannot handle the summer load, Scroggin says to skip the quick fix and call an electrician.
