Okoboji, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com)  The Okoboji Foundation’s Youth in Philanthropy students are making a major impact this holiday season.

The group recently met at West O Brewery in Milford to study community partnerships, specifically the brewery’s “Tap Roots” initiative which raises money for local non-profits. The students are also hosted Project Christmas. Thanks to an anonymous donor, they purchased gifts for thirty-six children in Dickinson County to ensure families in need have a bright holiday. Y.I.P hosted a holiday tree in the Iowa Great Lakes Mall in December. They collected cereal for local families.

To support the students’ future grant programs, you can mail a donation directly to the Okoboji Foundation.

Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) is a student leadership program organized by the Okoboji Foundation that teaches young people in the Iowa Great Lakes region about the importance of community service and charitable giving.
