ARMSTRONG, IA (Northwestiowanow) – North Union High School will join the FIRST Robotics Competition after receiving a major grant.

Industrial Tech Teacher Chris Stevens says the school has recently made changes to its robotics program.

This year, the team was awarded $6,300 from the NASA FIRST Robotics Competition grant program, one of only four in the state of Iowa to receive it.

The season kicks off January 10 with an event in Cedar Falls, where students will learn competition rules, attend workshops, and start building their robot. Stevens says moving forward, community support will be crucial.
