Lake Park, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The city of Lake Park has received the largest Community Attraction and Tourism grant of 2025 from the Iowa Department of Economic Development.  Mayor Matt Carstenson was informed on Friday that the entire 900-thousand-dollar application for an upgrade of Silver Lake Park was approved.

A 3-million-dollar renovation plan was approved by the Lake Park City Council after receiving public input.

Carstenson tells KICD News the CAT grant basically means the project is a go.

Silver Lake Park will serve as a trail head for the Dickinson County Bike Trail which already runs East to Spirit Lake and will someday loop around the lake to the West.
