Sioux Rapids, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — State Representative Megan Jones has been named Chairman of the House Transportation Committee in the upcoming legislative session.

Unfortunately – the Sioux Rapids Republican says – the committee does NOT prioritize road and bridge projects in the state.

Jones says ridding the roadways of impaired drivers is a personal concern.

Jones has also been reappointed to the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee.  State Representative John Wills from Spirit Lake continues to serve as the Speaker Pro-Tem – effectively making him a member of any committee he chooses to attend – but is officially on the Administration and Rules, Commerce, Higher Education, Judiciary, Public Safety, and Ways and Means committees.

State Representative Zach Dieken from Granville has been reappointed to Environmental Protection and Public Safety.  And State Representative Henry Stone from Estherville has been reappointed to the Administration and Rules, Appropriations, Education, Ethics, and Judiciary committees.
