Ames, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — Iowa State University Ag Extension Specialist Madelynn Wuestenberg told KICD that the state of Iowa has been drought-free for some time now.

Wuestenberg highlights the areas of the state that have experienced the most precipitation this summer.

The U.S. is currently on “La Niña Watch,” according to a new forecast issued by the Climate Prediction Center last Thursday. La Niña is expected to develop this fall, potentially influencing weather patterns later in the year.
