ESTHERVILLE, IA (Northwestiowanow) — Independent candidate for Iowa Senate District 5 Rachel Gravert is centering her campaign on what she calls the “SHE” platform.

Gravert says her priorities are rooted in strengthening systems that support both current residents and future growth in rural communities.

“SHE” stands for schools, healthcare, and the economy. Gravert says those three areas are closely connected and critical to keeping northwest Iowa strong.

She says part of her approach is finding ways to grow the economy by increasing participation and opportunity, especially for younger residents.

She says the decision to run as an independent allows her to stay focused on local concerns without being tied to a party platform.

Her background in language and legal analysis shapes how she says she would approach the role of a legislator.

Gravert says her campaign will rely on grassroots outreach, including door-to-door engagement and attending community events across the district.
