Sheldon, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Kent Feed officials are still assessing damage done in a Monday morning explosion in Sheldon. There were no injuries or resulting fire.

The Sheldon Fire Department was dispatched to door 9 at the mill located at 1500 RMT Avenue around 5a.m.

Sheldon Fire Chief Brand Hindt said there was visable damage to the building when they arrived, and the heat-detecting drone from the O’Brien County Emergency Management Agency was brought in to check for hot spots. There were none. Sheldon fire was on the scene for about an hour. Hindt says the explosion appears to have been accidental in nature as employees were firing up a grain dryer for the day.

Sheldon Police and the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Department were also on the scene.
