Estherville, IA (northwestiowanow) — A 29-year-old Emmetsburg man was arrested Tuesday after an alleged stabbing at a residence on 503 South 15th Street in Estherville.
Police say a verbal argument escalated when both individuals allegedly armed themselves with knives. During the confrontation, 37-year-old Joshua Mitchell was stabbed in the left arm.
Darrius Taylor, 29, was arrested and charged with Willful Injury Resulting in Bodily Injury, a Class D felony. He remains in the Emmet County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
Mitchell was treated at Avera Holy Family Hospital and later released.
The Estherville Police Department was assisted by the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office and Estherville Ambulance.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
