Washington DC (Northwestiowanow.com) — There was no change in this morning’s update of the USDA Drought Monitor in Northwest Iowa. Portions of the D-Zero “Abnormally Dry” area did expand in Eastern Iowa. 27 percent of Iowa is now drought free, down from 39 percent a week ago.
Colorado’s Governor declared a state-wide Drought emergency on June 4th. Drought emergencies were declared for Utah and New Mexico last month, and Washington State and Idaho in April.
