Driver Escapes Injury After Losing Control on 500th Street

CLAY COUNTY, IA (Northwestiowanow) –A Marcus man escaped injury after crashing his pickup in rural Clay County Friday.

According to a report from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 10:41 a.m. on January 30th. Deputies say 39-year-old Joshua Weber was driving along the 1300 mile of 500th Street, east of Peterson, when he lost control of his 2014 Toyota Tundra and entered the north ditch.

The truck struck the embankment and spun before coming to rest on its passenger side. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was considered a total loss, with damage estimated at $18,000.

Weber was cited and released for Failure to Maintain Control and Failure to Provide Security Against Liability (No Insurance).
