Ruthven, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office has released information regarding two separate incidents involving dogs in the town of Ruthven.

Last Tuesday evening shortly after 6pm, the Palo Alto County Sheriff was called to the 1200 block of Highland Street for a dog bite. After an investigation, the Sheriff’s office says 34-year-old Douglas Ashley of Ruthven was cited and released for a violation of Ruthven City Ordinance for allowing his dog to run at large, a Simple Misdemeanor. Douglas will have to appear before a magistrate and was also served with a dangerous dog complaint, per Ruthven City Ordinance.

Later that evening, authorities were called to the 3500 block of 340th Street in Ruthven for a report of dogs running at large. The Palo Alto Sheriff’s Office says they cited 57-year-old Lance Kruse of Ruthven for violation of ordinance for allowing dogs to run at large. Kruse was also given a court date to appear before a magistrate.
