Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — A Clay County jury has reached a verdict in the murder trial of a South Dakota man.

44-year-old Wade St. John Senior has been found guilty of First-Degree Murder.

St. John was convicted in the beating death of 38-year-old Djay Loudner. Loudner was found unconscious in a downtown Spencer alleyway late last August. Surveillance video of the attack was used as evidence during the trial.

The jury deliberated for only about one hour before returning the guilty verdict.
