Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — We reported a fatal accident in Clay County yesterday. The family of the individuals involved have been notified and the State Patrol confirmed the names for us overnight.

69 year old Mone Keoninh from Ruthven was Northbound on county road M-50 around 9:45 when Koeninh turned left in front of an oncoming Peterbilt semi driven by 42 year old Kevin Hoffman from Sanborn and was struck. The crash occurred at the intersection of 340th Street.

Keoninh was transported to Spencer Hospital by a crew from Spencer Fire and Ambulance where she died of injuries. Hoffman was uninjured.  The road was closed to traffic for several hours. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clay County Sheriff’s Department.
