Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The selection of this year’s Clay County Fair Queen is Sunday. The Fair Association Tuesday released the names of the four applications:

They are: Madelyn Garcia from Linn Grove, Martina Harmon from Everly, Lilly Jepsen from spencer, and Maggie Moser from Spencer.

The young ladies will be visiting with the judges throughout the day Sunday and will be evaluated on their leadership, community involvement, personality, poise, and attitude. There will be a public event Sunday evening at the Clay County Fair Event Center. The public ceremony will include contestant introductions, the self-expression portion, and the crowning. The event starts at 7 with the doors open at 6:30.

The Queen will have official duties during the run of the fair in September, and also represent the organization at community celebrations this summer and at the State Fair in August.

Spencer Media Group’s Kevin Tlam will serve as the master of ceremonies Sunday evening, and will interview the new Queen on Monday morning’s news.
