Arnolds Park, IA (northwestiowanow) — Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire/Rescue crews responded to three separate emergencies in less than two hours Monday.

According to Fire Chief Chris Yungbluth, the department received a call around 11:42 a.m. for a man who had fallen into a boat hoist at Sawmill Park. The man was injured and unable to get out of the water.

While responding to that incident, another call came in around 11:47 a.m. for a gas leak at a home at 143 Shady Oaks Drive. Crews worked with Black Hills to clear the gas and ventilate the home. The leak was eventually traced to a malfunctioning water heater.

No injuries were reported in the gas leak, and everyone was able to evacuate safely.

As crews were finishing up, they were called to assist Milford Fire with a single-vehicle crash near the landfill east of Arnolds Park, in the area of 185th Street and 250th Avenue.

Initial reports indicated the vehicle was partially submerged in water. One person was reportedly extricated from the vehicle and transported to a hospital. No further details regarding the crash have been released.

Rescue crews returned to the station around 1:30 p.m.
