Alta, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Alta-Aurelia hosted their Cross Country Meet on Monday.
In the Girls Race, Hinton’s Stella Riediger won with a time of 20:37.83.
Pocahontas Area’s Olivia Maske took 5th with a time of 21:15.75, Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Paisley Kreykes was 7th at 22:13.55, and Aleah Marco of Sibley-Ocheyedan was 8th at 22:13.78.
Winning the Team Title was Manson-Northwest Webster with 84 points. Sibley-Ocheyedan was 2nd at 87, and Hinton took 3rd with 94.
Newell-Fonda was 5th, Cherokee 6th, Pocahontas Area took 9th, Alta-Aurelia 10th, Sioux Central 11th, and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn was 14th.
For the Boys Race, Sioux Central’s Lucos Wernimont picked up another win with a time of 16:38.18.
Cherokee’s Danny Leyva-Cedeno was 4th at 18:14.02 with his teammate Clayton Sherbring 6th at 18:30.09. Landen Davenport of South O’Brien was 7th at 18:30.24. Another Cherokee Runner in the top 10 was Zach Walker, taking 9th at 18:41.81. Alta-Aurelia’s Ledger DeMuth was 10th at 18:44.96.
The Team Title for the Boys went to Cherokee with 67 points, Manson-Northwest Webster was 2nd with 86, and scoring 102 points in 3rd was Newell-Fonda.
