1st Degree Murder Charges Filed in Spencer

Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — 1st degree murder charges were filed early Wednesday morning after a body was found in Spencer.

Around 10:30 Tuesday evening police were called to an alley west of the 200 block of Grand Avenue on the report of a badly bleeding, unconscious man. A Spencer ambulance crew was dispatched at the same time, and they declared the individual dead at the scene. He has been identified as Djay Joseph St. John Loudner of Spencer.

Police discovered a surveillance camera in the area and retrieved footage. They say in a court affadavit that the video showed 44 year old Wade Cory St. John Sr. – believed to be from South Dakota – having an altercation with Loudner, and continuing to kick him in the face even after he was unconscious.
