Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Spencer Park Department is continuing to work with hired contractors to fix the tree situation around the community surrounding last year’s discovery of the presence of the Emerald Ash Borer.

Parks and Recreation Director Bob Fullhart tells KICD News the infestation is being seen almost community wide at this point making it a big job to eliminate all of the infected ash trees.

Fullhart adds his crew is also working to replace some of the trees around the city starting with some added plant life around the newly refurbished Rocket Slide.

Additional tree plantings are also expected to take place in the coming days at West View Memorial Park.
