Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Spencer Park Board met in special session on Thursday with the Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee to give initial reaction on a proposal that would start the planning phase of potentially moving the city-owned campground while also adding a splash pad and performing some upgrade work on the existing Aquatic Center.

Parks and Recreation Director Bob Fullhart tells KICD News while the prairie area south of the Aquatic Center is being highly considered for this project because of the many amenities it offers, nothing is set in stone and that is why the community will be asked to weigh with their concerns.

The conversation on whether or not to move forward will continue Monday night when the matter goes in front of the City Council.
