Spencer, IA (KICD)–The Spencer Community School District is mourning the loss of long-time educator and administrator Elli Wiemers who passed away on Friday following a battle with cancer.

Superintendent Terry Hemann visited with KICD News looking back at Wiemer’s career that spanned more than three decades all in Spencer.

Hemann says Weimers was known around the community for her caring ways and in many cases putting the needs of others above her own.

 

Funeral services for Elli Wiemers are planned for Thursday morning at 10:30 with visitation Wednesday evening from five to seven both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
