Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — We have more information on a short lock-down at Storm Lake schools yesterday. What turned out to be a false report of a shooting at the elementary school was called in shortly before 8am.

Both Storm Lake police and the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s department responded. They determined the erroneous call was made by an 11-year-old male student from the Storm Lake Middle school.

He was charged with make a false report to a public entity, willful disturbance, and 3rd degree harassment. Two other 11-year-old males were charged with aiding and abetting those three crimes.
