Northwest Iowa (KICD)–KICD News has been previewing select, contested, municipal and school board races leading up to next Tuesday’s vote:
We finished today with the matchups in three of the largest communities outside of Spencer:
In Storm Lake, four candidates are seeking three seats on the city council. Incumbent councilmembers Kevin McKinney, Maria Ramos, and Tyson Rice are joined on the ballot by Meg McKeon.

Estherville has three candidates seeking the open At-Large seat: Will Breck, Zachary Ehret, and Gary Myers. Roger Guge (GOO-ghee) is running unopposed for the At-Large seat to which he was recently appointed. And Diana Gesiriech and David Hovinga are seeking to fill an open seat.
There are two candidates for Estherville Mayor. Paul Radmaker spoke with KICD News recently.

This is the first time Radmaker has run for public office.

The other candidate turned down our request for an interview.

There are three seats and three candidates in Sheldon: They’re Incumbants Pete Hamill and Brad Hindt; and newcomer Shantel Oostra.
