2023 Swimming Preview: Spencer

2023 Swimming Preview: Spencer

Spencer, IA (KICD) – The Spencer Tiger Girls Swim team is looking to make some big improvements in the pool this year, bringing back a few key swimmers from 2022.

That’s the head coach Amie Lawrence who says the team’s biggest strengths will be in the short races and relays.

Although the numbers are a little down, Lilly Gross has found it beneficial for the team in practice.

Brooklyn Fergusen would like to get to State this year, both individually and in relays.

Gross has similar goals and is looking forward to seeing who on the team steps up and helps bring the relays back to State.

Coach Lawrence talked about some of the key dates on the schedule.

The Tigers next meet is Thursday at the Spencer Family YMCA against Mason City. You will be able to catch that dual on SMUnet.net and SMU Channel 3. I will have the story on Friday Morning’s sportscast.
