Primghar, IA (northwestiowanow) — A rural Rock Valley woman faces a theft charge after allegedly stealing and consuming an alcoholic beverage at a Primghar convenience store.
According to an incident report, 55-year-old Valora Sue DeBruin entered the Pro-Go convenience store in Primghar on Thursday, September 24th.
She allegedly took a can of Cutwater White Russian from a cooler before entering the women’s restroom. An employee who was in the restroom at the time reported hearing the can open.
Authorities say DeBruin left the restroom without the beverage, and an employee later found the empty can in a trash container inside one of the restroom stalls.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says surveillance video showed DeBruin taking the can from the cooler.
When questioned, DeBruin reportedly admitted to taking and drinking the beverage.
She was arrested around 12:45 p.m. that day and charged with fifth-degree theft, a simple misdemeanor.
